Magnetic Field Strength (H)

The magnetic field strength, magnetising force or tangential field strength is that which is needed to induce a flux in a magnetic circuit and is measured in amperes per metre (A/m), or in old (cgs) units, the oersted (Oe).

1 oersted = 79.58 amperes per metre.
